Srilanka, May 2 -- Speaker Hon. Jagath Wickramaratne officially endorsed the certificate on the Proceeds of Crime Bill in Parliament on April 30, 2025.

The Second Reading debate of the Bill took place on April 8, 2025. It was then reviewed at the Committee Stage and subsequently passed during the Third Reading-without amendments and without a division.

The Bill was initially presented to Parliament for its First Reading on March 1, 2025.

With the Speaker's endorsement, the legislation will now come into effect as the Proceeds of Crime Act, No. 05 of 2025.
