Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The Southern Province becomes the first province to have all District and Divisional Secretariat services enabled with digital payments through GovPay.

In conjunction with the GovPay state digital payment platform, all District and Divisional Secretariats across the Southern Province began accepting online payments from Monday (15) September 2025.

The announcement of this achievement was held at the Matara District Secretariat under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne on Monday. Accordingly, the Southern Province made history as the first province to have all District and Divisional Secretariats in the province enabled with digital payments through GovPay.
