Srilanka, May 15 -- The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has decided to adopt several safety measures in the operation of long-distance bus services.

Accordingly, it has been planned to deploy two buses by connecting two depots for a long-distance service journey that takes more than six hours," SLTB Chairman Jeevaka Prasanna Purasinghe said. He stated that these decisions were reached during a discussion held yesterday afternoon.

The Chairman also said that the investigation conducted by the Sri Lanka Transport Board regarding the bus accident that occurred in the Gerandi Ella, Ramboda has reached the final stage.

The five-member Committee appointed to investigate the accident has also commenced its investigation.
