Srilanka, June 2 -- A Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus traveling from Colombo to Maskeliya met with an accident around 8:30 a.m. today (June 2), according to Nortonbridge Police.
The incident occurred while the bus was en route from Watawala to Maskeliya via Diyagala, Nortonbridge. A sudden technical malfunction caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and plunging into a roadside ditch on a steep slope.
Police confirmed that approximately 20 passengers were on board at the time of the accident. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, but investigations are ongoing.
