Sri Lanka, Nov. 4 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) said that it is mandatory to obtain the Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) product certification mark for all locally produced 'ready-to-serve' fruit drinks.

Similarly, approval must be obtained for imported fruit drinks to be sold under import inspection.

The aim of the regulation is to ensure product safety and quality standards for consumers in accordance with national food certification requirements.

The Consumer Affairs Authority also states that it will continue to enforce the law by conducting raids with the aim of ensuring consumer safety and quality standards.

For complaints or further information, consumers can call the CAA on the hotline 1977.
