Sri Lanka, July 6 -- Industrial Export, Investment Promotion, Tourism and Aviation Minister Prasanna Ranatunga yesterday said the alliance formed with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was only for the previous Presidential election, and it is not valid for the forthcoming General Eection.
He was addressing a meeting held at Beliatta yesterday.
"The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) members including myself will not contest the General election under the alliance with the SLFP, and we all contest as SLPP members under the "Lotus Bud ", he added.
"So, the alliance with the SLFP is not valid for the upcoming General Election. We do not hold any responsibility for any alliance with the SLFP," he added.
