Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has temporarily suspended the membership of eight party members who voted in favour of the National People's Power (NPP) to pass the 2026 Budget, in violation of the party's official stance.Sri Lanka Travel Guide

In a statement, the SLFP said the individuals had acted contrary to the information, guidelines and instructions issued by the party leadership.

The statement added that a detailed report on the incident will be presented at the next Central Committee meeting, during which disciplinary action will be considered against the members involved.

The party also released the list of members whose membership has been temporarily suspended.
