Sri Lanka, May 10 -- The high-ups of the Sri Lanka Podu Peramuna (SLPP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)-led United People's Freedom Alliance met at Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapksa's official residence in Colombo 7 yesterday to discuss the basis for forming their alliance, but dispersed after discussing the country's national security.

SLPP Chairman Prof. G.L. Peiris, UPFA Parliamentarian and SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara and MP Thilanga Smathipala participated in the yesterday's discussion - their fifth in arriving at consensus on the matter. SLFP Parliamentarian S.B. Dissanayake said the meeting was postponed to May 30.
