Sri Lanka, June 23 -- Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) Chairman Koshala Wickremasinghe stated that the sending of Sri Lankan workers to Israel will be temporarily halted due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Speaking to the media on Friday (20) he said "Due to an unexpected situation in international politics, there has been a misunderstanding and some security issues between Israel and Iran. We acted very quickly regarding the safety and security of our Sri Lankan migrant workers.
"Since this unsafe situation arose, the SLBFE under the Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Ministry, has been closely monitoring the status of our workers, their facilities, and whether they are in an unsafe situation.
