Sri Lanka, Dec. 2 -- The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has posthumously promoted Wing Commander Nirmal Siyambalapitiya, the pilot who tragically lost his life in the Lunuwila, Wennappuwa helicopter crash, to the rank of Group Captain.

The SLAF commended his exemplary service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty, stating that his contributions are held in the highest regard.
