Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar said Sri Lanka's participation in the meeting was part of a broader international effort to ensure the long-term conservation and equitable management of tuna resources in the Indian Ocean.
Representatives from 12 Indian Ocean coastal States engaged in discussions focused on advancing a fair, rules-based and sustainable framework for managing highly migratory tuna stocks under the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC).
