Srilanka, Nov. 5 -- A discussion aimed at strengthening maritime and fisheries sector collaboration between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia took place recently at the Fisheries Ministry recently.
The meeting was held between Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar and Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Kahtani, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in fisheries, marine research and sustainable aquatic resource development.
During the discussion, Saudi Arabia conveyed its interest in expanding cooperation with Sri Lanka in areas such as modernisation of fisheries operations, technology transfer, investment opportunities, knowledge exchange, and industry capacity development.
