Srilanka, June 18 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has suspended the party membership of Narahenpige Susil Kumara Costa, who was elected with the highest number of votes from the SJB in the Kolonnawa Municipal Council.

According to a statement issued by SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the decision was made due to Costa's support for the National People's Power (NPP) during the selection of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Kolonnawa Municipal Council, which contravened the directives of both the SJB Party Management Committee and Working Committee.
