Srilanka, Nov. 5 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Boderagama yesterday (4) ordered that the six fishermen who were arrested by the Navy in connection with the alleged smuggling of and dealing in 53 kilograms and 134 grams of heroin, which was seized by the Navy off the southern coast, be further remanded until November 11.

The suspects were further remanded, after considering the requests made by the Narcotics Bureau while submitting a further report to the Court regarding the six fishermen who were arrested and interrogated by the Navy on the southern coast on October 17.

Fishermen Kanishka Saranga, Raj Kumar, Suresh, Chamika, Lahiru Madhusanka, and Thisara Thejas were thus further remanded in custody.
