Srilanka, April 28 -- Former President Maithripala Sirisena, named as a witness in the case related to a 2008 suicide bombing attack in Boralesgamuwa, recorded his evidence before the Colombo High Court today (28).
The case, filed by the Attorney General, involves two defendants accused of aiding and abetting the bombing with the intent to kill Sirisena, who was the Minister of Agriculture at the time. The attack took place on October 10, 2008.
The case was heard before Colombo High Court Judge R.S.S. Sapuvida. Sirisena appeared in court following a notice issued earlier. After recording his testimony, the court ordered his release.
