Srilanka, July 8 -- Treatment for the ailing elephant Bhathiya continued for the third consecutive day today (08), with a team led by veterinarian Dr. Tharindu Wijekoon administering care.

Blood tests revealed that Bhathiya is suffering from nutritional deficiencies. As a result, nutritional supplements were given again today, as they were over the past two days. Antibiotics were also administered to address several visible injuries.

Dr. Wijekoon noted signs of slight improvement, saying the elephant is now attempting to move its head and legs and has even splashed water on its body with its trunk - a positive behavioral sign.
