Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Sri Lankan shuttler Dumindu Abeywickrama came to the fore when he clinched the bronze medal in the V11 Guatemala Future Badminton Series 2025 held in Guatemala yesterday.
The 22-year former Royalist played in this tournament after playing World Badminton Championships recently in France and he was also a member of Sri Lanka team at the recently concluded South Asian Regional tournament. These International tournaments are very important for the local shuttlers to gain world ranking points for their Olympic journey. In addition playing with world ranking shuttlers also gave much needed exposure for the local shuttlers.
