Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala informed Parliament today (20) that significant breakthroughs have been made in the investigation into the shooting of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda, Thalangama.

The Minister identified the shooter as "Rubert Suresh" from Meewala and the owner of the getaway vehicle as Wanniarachchige Sihina Dilsara from Galle.

Investigations revealed that the crime vehicle was found burnt in Baddegama, while another vehicle used to transport firearms was seized in Kottawa.

Extensive operations are now underway to apprehend the suspects.
