Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- Shenuk Samararatne once again came to the fore when he emerged the men's open singles champion while Rashmi Mudalige clinched the women's open singles title at the Eastern Province Badminton Association (EPBA) Badminton championship which ended at Weber Indoor Stadium in Batticaloa yesterday.

The top seed shuttler Shenuk had a superb display to make two straight sets over Thilina Rajakaruna 21-12, 21-18 to clinch the men's singles title.

At the women's open singles final Rashmi Mudalige made three setter win over top seed Panchali Adhikari. The first set was won by Rashmi 21-14 but Panchali equaled the game in second set winning 21-18. However the third and deciding set Rashmi Mudalige fought back to win 21-18.
