Sri Lanka, Nov. 9 -- Seven Sri Lankan drug traffickers hiding in the Middle East have agreed to surrender to security forces, Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala announced.

The traffickers have reportedly disclosed their locations and drug operations and expressed willingness to turn themselves in to authorities.

Speaking at the Colombo District Operation Program under the "Ratama Ekata" national campaign to eliminate toxic drugs, Minister Wijepala emphasized that all necessary measures will be taken to halt the supply of illegal drugs.

He also confirmed that the Inspector General of Police has been instructed to continue island-wide raids to combat drug trafficking.
