Sri Lanka, June 21 -- Punya Chandrasena (90), who served as a Dhamma teacher for 68 years at the Sri Gnanavimala Dhamma School at the Siri Parama Visuddharama Viharaya in Gangula, Panadura, has passed away.
Possessing a high level of knowledge in Pali and Abhidharma, she was also awarded the honorary title of Sri Gnanavimalabhimani at the 75th anniversary celebration of the Gangula Dhamma School held this year. She was a member of the first batch of girls at Panadura Balika College and for a time held the position of Secretary of the Alumni Association of that college. She has also served in schools such as Kalubowila Buddhaghosha College, Panadura Sri Sumangala Balika College and Moratuwa Maha Vidyalaya.
