Srilanka, June 16 -- Defeated Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) mayoral candidate Riza Zarook has alleged that the Commissioner of the Department of Local Government in the Western Province acted unilaterally during the vote to elect the new Mayor of Colombo this morning.
Speaking after the election, Zarook criticized Commissioner Sarangika Jayasundara's decision to conduct the vote via secret ballot, claiming it gave an undue advantage to the ruling party.
