Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- The official opening of the second Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the Galle National Hospital, a significant milestone in Sri Lanka's cardiac care development, was held this morning (27) under the patronage of Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The project was initiated by the Swiss Heart Clinic Foundation, including Professor Jorg Gunnenfelder, with a donation of 650,000 to procure a Philips Azurion Angiography Machine. The Galle Karapitiya Hospital contributed Rs. 25 million, and the Ministry of Health allocated Rs. 35 million for renovations and equipment.
