Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- The Supreme Chamber of Youth Governance (SCY-GOV), a national youth-led platform, has expressed strong support for the Government's new initiative to combat drug abuse in Sri Lanka.
SCY-GOV Chairman Journalist Umair Nawshad and General Secretary Zamil Shafeek extended their appreciation to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for launching a united national operation aimed at eradicating drugs.
"As a youth organisation, we at SCY-GOV have observed with increasing concern the addiction to narcotics among the younger generation. It's alarming and heartbreaking to see so many youths falling into this trap," the statement said.
