Sri Lanka, Jan. 2 -- The All Ceylon SchoolChildren's Transport Association has decided to raise school transport fees from February.

Lalith Fernando, the president of the association, said that the parents will be informed about the percentage of increase at the beginning of the school term.

He said that due to the implementation of the new VAT amendment from yesterday (1), the price of vehicle parts and fuel has also increased, and due to this, the transport charges too will definitely have to be increased.
