Srilanka, April 28 -- The Supreme Court today (28) dismissed without further hearing both a writ petition and a fundamental rights petition filed by a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidate, which sought to reject the nomination paper submitted by the National People's Power (NPP) for the Kesbewa Pradeshiya Sabha.
The petitions were reviewed by the Supreme Court Dissolution Bench comprising Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, Janak de Silva, and Sampath Abeykoon.
The Court dismissed the cases, ruling that there was no sufficient basis to issue notices or to grant the relief requested.
