Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The Supreme Court yesterday concluded the hearing of 12 Special Determination petitions filed challenging the 'Sri Lanka Electricity' Bill which was tabled in the Parliament on April 25.

Accordingly, the final determination of the cCurt on the Bill will be sent to the Speaker in the coming weeks.

This Bill which was presented by Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera intends to introduce reforms to the electricity sector.

These petitions had been filed by parties including SJB General Secretary Parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Ceylon Electricity Board's Trade Union activist Ranjan Jayalal, Organising Secretary of the Workers' Struggle Centre Duminda Nagamuwa, President of the Citizens' Power against Br...
