Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- Former Secretary to the President, Saman Ekanayake, appeared before the Colombo Magistrate's Court today, following his absence when the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) attempted to take him into custody.
The CID had visited Ekanayake's residence yesterday (27) in connection with the ongoing investigation into former President Ranil Wickremesinghe's 2023 visit to London, undertaken to attend the graduation ceremony of his wife, Professor Maithri Wickremesinghe. At the time of the attempted arrest, Ekanayake was not present at his residence.
