Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga and quarter-miler Nadeesha Ramanayaka were adjudged the best male and female athletes at the 103rd National Athletics Championship, concluded at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama yesterday. Tharanga was also awarded the Challenge Trophy for the Overall Best Performance of this meet.
Rumesh Tharanga of Sri Lanka Air Force finished men's Javelin Throw with a impressive performance of 82.36 m while Nadeesha Ramanayaka of Sri Lanka Army won the 400m with a timing of 52.86 seconds.
