Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- Former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Upali Hewage, who played for the Thurstan College First XV rugby team for three years from 1966 to 1968 and captained the side in his final year, later served as Vice President and Secretary of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76.
His remains now lie at Raymond's Parlour in Borella. The funeral will take place today (Thursday) at 4.00 p.m. at the General Cemetery, Borella.
