Sri Lanka, Nov. 19 -- Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala said in Parliament yesterday (18) that Cabinet approval has been received to provide an allowance of Rs. 7,000 to Police officers. Addressing the House during the 2026 Budget committee stage debate on Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs expenditure heads, the Minister said that this allowance will be provided for their uniforms and shoes.
"Yesterday, the Cabinet decided to provide an allowance to Police officers for their uniforms and shoes. Accordingly, it has been decided to provide an allowance of Rs.7,000 per Police officer.
