Srilanka, Feb. 27 -- The Prisons Department has planned to enhance security in Sri Lankan prisons using modern technology and new mechanisms.
As part of this initiative, several security measures, including the upgrading of mobile phone signal jammers will be implemented. Rs.300 million has been allocated to the department for the first quarter of this year. The programme is being carried out under the guidance of the Defence Ministry.
