Sri Lanka, Nov. 11 -- The National Eye Hospital has issued a warning about a growing number of cases of keratoconus, an eye disorder that causes distorted vision.

Speaking to the media on World Keratoconus Day yesterday (10), Consultant Cornea Surgeon Dr. Kusum Ratnayaka highlighted that the condition is now being detected in schoolchildren as young as eight years old.

Most patients, he noted, fall between the ages of 10 and 40, with the disorder typically starting during the teenage or early adult years.
