Srilanka, June 27 -- The Colombo High Court has scheduled a retrial of the case against Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa for September 26, following procedural developments in court today.

The case, filed by the Attorney General, accuses Rajapaksa of misappropriating Rs. 70 million allegedly received from the Indian company Krish under the guise of promoting rugby in Sri Lanka, and of breach of trust.

When the matter was taken up, Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently out on bail, appeared before court. The Additional Solicitor General, representing the prosecution, noted that the defense had requested several documents not originally listed in the case, and requested time to provide them.
