Sri Lanka, March 20 -- A school boy and a schoolgirl who were sitting on a rock at Jungle Beach, Unawatuna in Habaraduwa police domain were swept away by the waves on Monday (18).
The girl who has been swept away was rescued by a group of fishermen who are local residents and the boy has gone missing, police said. The Navy, Police and local residents have conducted search operations to find the male student without any success.
The missing boy is a 17-year-old resident of Walahanduwa area in Akmeemana and a prefect studying at a prominent school in Galle, Police said.
