Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- The Department of Railways has announced additional train services to meet the increased travel demand during the Christmas season, school holidays, and the year-end long weekend.

A special express train will depart from Maradana to Matara today (24 December) at 3.00 p.m.

Another special service from Matara will leave on 29 December at 5.00 a.m., with an expected arrival at Colombo Fort by 8.30 a.m.

In addition, the Colombo Fort-Kankesanthurai Intercity Express will operate on 25 and 28 December, featuring nine air-conditioned first-class carriages.
