Srilanka, Feb. 11 -- The Railway Department is set to introduce air-conditioned office trains on several key routes to improve commuter comfort.

The planned services include two trains from Galle to Colombo Fort, one from Avissawella to Colombo Fort, one from Veyangoda to Colombo Fort, and one from Negombo to Colombo Fort.

These air-conditioned trains are expected to be operational before the end of this year.

Railway General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara confirmed that the department plans to repair and utilize existing engines and compartments for this initiative.
