Srilanka, May 29 -- Train services on the main railway line between Mahawa and Anuradhapura will be suspended for one month due to the renovation of five aging railway bridges, Sri Lanka Railways announced.According to a spokesperson from the Railway Department, the bridges-each over a century old-are being replaced as part of a modernization project. Five new bridges, procured with Indian loan assistance at a cost of approximately USD 15 million, have already arrived in the country.
The construction work is expected to commence after the upcoming Poson Poya Festival.
