Srilanka, June 19 -- The 48-hour strike planned by railway controllers, set to commence at midnight today (19) over unresolved matters including promotion-related issues, has been postponed by two weeks.

According to the Railway Controllers' Association, the decision was made following a three-hour discussion with the General Manager of Railways, held with the intervention of the Ministry of Transport.

The association noted that some grievances were resolved during the meeting, while the authorities were given two weeks to address the remaining concerns.
