Srilanka, March 28 -- Renowned writer, screenwriter, and teledrama scriptwriter Vajira Kasthuri (57) tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in the Moragahapallam area of Pannipitiya.
On March 26, at around 10:35 am, Kasthuri was riding his motorcycle from Pannipitiya towards Hokandara when he collided with an electric and telephone pole. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Homagama Base Hospital.
A father of two, Kasthuri was a prominent figure in Sri Lankan literature and cinema. He authored about 10 novels, including the popular works "Sangala Varahan," "Ahupevatha," "Polkichi Premaya," and "Panduru Bandina Gas."
