Sri Lanka, Jan. 7 -- The Cabinet of Ministers approved measures on Monday (5) to obtain diagnostic services and equipment for the diagnosis of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism, according to Cabinet Spokesman and Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
He explained that under the new approach, the Government will no longer purchase high-cost diagnostic equipment by making large upfront payments. Instead, payments will be made to the relevant institutions based on the services provided, while patients will continue to receive these services free of charge.
