Sri Lanka, June 30 -- Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that if the number of flights arriving in Sri Lanka further decreases due to the current foreign exchange crisis, Sri Lanka's tourism industry, exports and foreign investment could be heavily disrupted. He said that existing laws should be amended allowing the private sector to import jet fuel as it would severely affect those embarking on foreign employment from Sri Lanka.

The Minister made these comments after having a discussion with the representatives of airlines recently.
