Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- Minister of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development, Bimal Rathnayake announced that a Presidential Road Safety Awards scheme will be established next year in collaboration with the United Nations.
He stated that it is essential to create a system and a society that appreciates police officers who perform their duties effectively. The Minister made these remarks while addressing the "Traffic Police Officer Awareness 2025" programme yesterday (26) at the Foundation Institute in Colombo.
