Srilanka, June 2 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, speaking at the launch of National Tax Week, vowed to dismantle the black economy fueled by racketeering and pledged to build a transparent, lawful system that ensures the protection of public funds.
Addressing the gathering at the Presidential Secretariat, the President stated that he had personally cut back on presidential expenditures to ensure responsible use of public money.
He emphasized that tax revenues would be safeguarded and that legal action would be taken against anyone who misuses public funds. "I urge every citizen to fulfill their tax obligations. We will protect every rupee," he affirmed.
