Srilanka, June 16 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced today that Sri Lanka aims to make the ongoing IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF) the final program it will enter with the International Monetary Fund.
He made these remarks at the "Sri Lanka's Road to Recovery: Debt and Governance" conference held in Colombo this morning (16), which was attended by IMF First Deputy Managing Director Dr. Gita Gopinath.
President Dissanayake emphasized the government's ambition to stabilize the country's economy and ensure the repayment of debts by 2028.
"We are determined to make this the last IMF loan program for Sri Lanka. Our goal is to generate the economic growth and stability needed to repay our debt by 2028," he stated.
