Srilanka, Feb. 4 -- The veneration of the Holy Buddha Relics will be inaugurated this afternoon (04) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The sacred relics have been brought to Sri Lanka with the full support of the Indian Government, following a personal intervention by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Discovered during excavations in the 1960s at the historic Devni Mori site in Gujarat-the birthplace of Prime Minister Modi-these physical relics of the Lord Buddha have never before been taken outside of India.
