Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- The President's Fund has commenced the disbursement of a Rs. 10,000 financial assistance grant to schoolchildren affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The relevant funds have been released to all District Secretariats, and the assistance will be provided to schoolchildren who had earlier received the Rs. 15,000 relief grant issued by the government following the disaster.

As announced by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during the presentation of the most recent national budget, each disaster-affected schoolchild is entitled to a total financial assistance package of Rs. 25,000.
