Sri Lanka, Jan. 27 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasised today (27) the need to rebuild the nation by restoring vital human relationships, highlighting the importance of bonds between government officials and citizens, the Maha Sangha and Dayaka Sabha, and teachers and students. He noted that the Maha Sangha and other religious leaders have been entrusted with a significant role in this process.
The remarks were made at the inaugural ceremony of the national programme "Godanagamu Adhishtanaye Sanhinda", held at Sri Bodhirukkarama Viharaya, Peacock Hill, Doragala, Gampola. The programme aims to reconstruct religious sites damaged by Cyclone Ditwah, which affected over a thousand religious, cultural, and archaeological sites.
