Srilanka, April 7 -- A memorandum has been submitted to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Maha Nayaka Theras regarding the Bodh Gaya crisis.

Strong opposition has emerged from within India, claiming that Bodh Gaya is undergoing a severe Hinduisation and that the majority of the Bodh Gaya administrative mechanism comprises Hindus.

The Indian Buddhists who lead it declare that the ownership and administration of Bodh Gaya should be entirely vested with Buddhists.

Considering the situation that has arisen, a memorandum signed by the Mahanayaka Theras has been handed over to the Indian Prime Minister, during his visit to the country.
