Srilanka, May 26 -- The case involving former ministers Mervyn Silva and Prasanna Ranaweera, along with four other suspects, was taken up at the Mahara Magistrate's Court today (May 26). The proceedings were held online before Magistrate Kanchana N. Silva.

The suspects are accused of being involved in the illegal sale of a government-owned land in the Kiribathgoda area using forged deeds.

After reviewing the submissions, Magistrate Silva ordered that all six suspects, including Silva and Ranaweera - who are currently in remand custody - remain in custody until June 9. The court also rejected the bail application filed on behalf of MP Prasanna Ranaweera.
